Recently, Saudi Power Purchasing Company (SPPC) announced the pre-qualification results of the second batch of energy storage battery system projects, a total of 27 enterprises were selected, including 7 Chinese enterprises. Respectively: Longyuan Power Group, China Southern Power Grid International (Hong Kong), Envision Energy , Guoxuan Hi-Tech, China Power Construction Group, Shanghai Electric Power, and Shanghua Investment under Huaneng Group.
This round of pre-qualification involves six independent energy storage sub-projects, each with a scale of 500 MW/2000 MWh and a duration of 4 hours, with a total scale of up to 3 GW/12 GWh. The project is developed in a build-own-operate mode.
The winning consortium is required to set up a project company (SPV) for each independent energy storage project and hold 100% of its equity; each SPV will enter into an energy storage service agreement with the tenderer.
