Alyaksandr Selyaznyow, Construction Minister of Belarus, said that an agreement had been reached with China's Citic supplier for better control over the quality of its equipment delivered to Belarus.
China has pledged to lend Belarus $620 million for the modernization of its cement plants. Belarusian banks are expected to contribute 431 billion rubels in loans for the project.
A total of 1.2 trillion rubels ($398 million at the current exchange rate) is to be spent on the upgrade of the Belarusian Cement Plant, 1.6 trillion rubels ($530 million) on the modernization of Krychawtsementnashyfer and 914 billion rubels ($303 million) on the modernization of Krasnaselskbudmateryyaly.
