Titan Cement Company helps earthquake-hit island of Kefalonia

Earlier this month, Titan Cement Company S.A. provided the Greek island of Kefalonia with 500 t of packed cement. This will be used to help repair buildings of public interest after a series of earthquakes hit the island in January. The cement manufacturer has announced that it will respond to related requests for the restoration of the most serious construction problems on the island, including churches, public and municipal buildings, as well as infrastructure projects.

Titan S.A.’s turnover increased by 6% y/y in 2013 to reach €235 million. The Titan Group reported an improvement in its operating results for the first time in seven years in 2013. The Group’s turnover grew by 4% to €1.176 billion and EBITDA reached €196 million, up 0.1% on 2012.

Greece’s Production Index for Construction and Industry

According to the Hellenic Statistical Authority, Greece’s Production Index in Industry increased by 1.1% y/y in January 2014. Within this, mining and quarrying production grew by 1.6% compared to January 2013, while manufacturing production improved by 1%.
