PPC wins Diamond Arrow award

South Africa’s PPC has won the 2014 Diamond Arrow prize at the Professional Management Review (PMR).africa Awards. The prize, which was awarded under the ‘Cement and Concrete/Ready-Mix Suppliers’ category, celebrates PPC’s achievements in the country’s cement industry.

The awards are based on the results of the PMR.africa national survey, which measures customer service and satisfaction through the collection of random samples from buyers at material retailers and construction company representatives. This year, PPC achieved a rating of 4.3 out of 5, an increase on last year’s 4.19 rating.

“This is amazing considering we had the whole cement industry in the running for this prize, it just demonstrations what a hugely prestigious award this is in the industry. It goes to show our commitments to our strength beyond the bag philosophy,” said Marlene Corrie, PPC’s General Manager for Sales and Marketing, Inland.

Meanwhile, PPC has called for the formation of an Infrastructure Codesa in order to ensure the continued development of South Africa’s infrastructure. The cement producer believes that bringing together the government and private sector will help to solve the current problems faced by the industry and boost infrastructure activity in the country.
