December 8, the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) held a meeting in Geneva, Switzerland. Sinoma was welcomed as a member of CSI at the meeting. Sinoma is among the first three Chinese cement companies that have signed up to the CSI.

Under the World Business Council of Sustainable Development, the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) remains one of the largest global sustainability programs ever undertaken by a single industry sector. It is a global effort by 18 world's major cement producers that account for about 30% of the world’s cement production. The purpose of the Initiative is to explore what sustainable development means for the cement industry; identify actions and facilitate steps cement companies can take, individually and as a group, to accelerate progress toward sustainable development; provide a framework for other cement companies to become involved; and create the content and context for further stakeholder engagement. Based on the common pursuit of business sustainable development, CSI meets its obligations and provides contributions to the society.

On behalf of Sinoma Group, Sinoma Ltd Vice President Sui Yumin attended the meeting in Geneva and met with WBSCD President Bjorn Stigson and CSI Director Howard Klee. Mr. Sui introduced Sinoma's main businesses and its achievements in environmental protection, safety management and energy efficiency.
