Agra has become a partner to the OhorongoOtavi Community Trust (OOCT). The aim of the OOCT is to improve the living conditions of the people in Otavi and the rest of the Otjozondjupa Region, while working together with the Otavi community. In a statement Agra said it recognised the important contribution of Ohorongo Cement (PTY) Ltd to Namibia's economy and Vision 2030 and appreciated the way they took up their role as a corporate citizen.

Agra is committed to do justice to the triple bottom-line approach which embraces economic, social and environmental issues. Through their corporate social investment Agra wants to make a difference through partnerships with community groups, suppliers, employees and other, the company said.

The focus of the four areas of support by the OOCT – health, infrastructure, education and sports, also help Agra to achieve their other objective of being in a win-win position, where the company invests in community development and in return, new markets are opened via these beneficiaries.

At the handover of Agra's membership certificate, Hans-Wilhelm Schütte, Managing Director of Ohorongo Cement said: "I am delighted to have Agra on board as a partner to the OhorongoOtavi Community Trust. Agra and Ohorongo, both are 'citizens' of Otavi and have the town's development close at heart."
