Taiwan Cement Corp., Taiwan's leading cement producer, will budget 1.85 billion renminbi, or NT$8.3 billion, to set up a plant in Shaoguan, Guangdong province, China, which will begin mass production in the second half of 2013, with the move to further solidify its lead as the largest cement producer in southeastern China.

Taiwan Cement said it will obtain assistance from Chinese authorities to acquire land and mining rights.

The proposed plant will contain two dry-type clinker production lines, each with daily output of 60 million metric tons, and four cement-grinding production lines, each with capacity of five million metric tons yearly, and a 21,000-kilowatt cogeneration system.
