On June 14, the 11th China Cement Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Technology Exchange Conference and Equipment Renewal Forum, sponsored by China Cement Network, was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Wang Lan, Professor of
China Building Materials Research Institute, made a keynote report on the concept and research of 60 cement plant construction. Wang Lan introduced the concept of 60 cement plant construction with zero purchased electricity, zero fossil fuel, zero primary resources, zero carbon dioxide emissions, zero waste emissions and zero employees.
Wang Lan pointed out that coping with climate change and reducing carbon dioxide and air pollutant emissions are urgent tasks for the green and sustainable development of the cement industry.
