Dangote Cement's recent share price rally has brought its market value to its highest level in 52 weeks. As a result, the cement company's market capitalisation rose by about 11% on a weekly basis to N11.22 trillion as of Friday.
The reassessment of the market value is due to the increased trading activity of Dangote Cement, which is listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, with 16.873 billion shares in circulation. After the company bought back shares from shareholders, its free float ratio was 4.79%, which reduced the volatility of Dangote Cement due to low trading volume.
Due to the high concentration of its holdings, Dangote Cement's share price volatility is particularly evident on the Nigerian exchange, mainly due to its scale advantage. Data reviewed by MarketForces Africa shows that more than 92% of Dangote Cement's shares are held by Dangote Industries Ltd (87.28%) and Standard Bank IBTC Trustee (5.43%). According to the first-half earnings report, the directors' total stake is 2.5%. Shares of Dangote Cement rose 10.8333%
last week to reach N665 on Friday, when 1.205 million shares were traded in the stock market with a total value of N793.487 million. The share price rally over the past few weeks comes ahead of Dangote Cement's third-quarter 2025 financial report. Analysts at
Cardinal Securities Limited (CardinalStone Securities Limited) said that Dangote Cement's growth momentum should continue into the third quarter of 2025. This is due to the resilience of domestic demand and the stability of prices.
With the market expecting better earnings in the third quarter of 2025 than in the same period in 2024, investors are starting to increase their holdings . Dangote Cement has informed the Nigerian Exchange Company Limited (NGX) and all stakeholders that the board meeting scheduled for October 30, 2025 will be brought forward to October 27. The board will discuss various matters, including unaudited financial statements for the third quarter ended September 30, 2025,
according to a notice issued by the company.
