July 19, the commencement ceremony of the hydropower project in the lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River was held at the Nyingchi City of the Xizang Autonomous. Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and announced the official start of the project. The hydropower project in the
lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River is located in the Nyingchi City of the Xizang Autonomous. The project mainly adopts the development mode of cutting bend and straightening and tunnel diversion, and constructs five cascade hydropower stations with a total investment of about 1.2 trillion yuan. The external power transmission and consumption of the project is the main part, taking into account the local self-use demand of Xizang. The hydropower project in the lower reaches of
the Brahmaputra River is expected to have a huge pulling effect on local cement demand.

China Cement Network data show that Xizang major cement enterprises are concentrated along the Yarlung Zangbo River. From upstream to downstream, it includes Shigatse Yaqu (4000t/d), Shigatse Gaoxin Saussurea (2500t/d + 3000t/d), Duilongdeqing Gaozheng (2000t/d * 2 + 4000t/d), Xizang Sinoma (4000t/d), Lhasa Chengtou Qilian Mountain (4000t/d), Sangri Huaxin (1000t/d + 2000t/d + 3000t/d), Langxian Gaozheng Building Materials (4000t/d) and other enterprises have a total clinker production capacity of 11.005 million tons, of which Langxian Gaozheng Building Materials is closest to the downstream area. In addition, Basu Conch (3000t/d) is also close to the downstream Mêdog County.
In addition, according to the big data of China Cement Network, there is still a cement clinker project under construction in Xizang: Langxian Gaozheng Building Materials 4000t/d clinker production line (the capacity replacement plan has been publicized, and the two 2000t/d clinker lines in Duolongdeqing have been shut down and replaced according to 1:1).
