November 29, Jingao Technologies and Zhengtai Xinneng issued a joint statement saying that the two sides and their affiliated companies had reached a settlement over ongoing patent disputes worldwide.
According to the settlement agreement, both parties agree to terminate all ongoing patent dispute legal proceedings worldwide and reach a cross-license agreement on TOPCon patents held by both parties; Moreover, the two sides undertake not to initiate any patent-related litigation or other proceedings against each other on TOPCon patents worldwide.
This means that the patent dispute between the two sides has finally come to an end after more than a year.
Previously, in July 2024, Jingao Technologies sued Zhengtai and its European subsidiaries to the European Union Unified Patent Court (UPC) for patent infringement. Patents EP2787541 and EP4092759 are involved .
Among them, patent EP2787541 is TOPCon battery patent technology and EP4092759 is component patent technology, both of which originally belonged to LG Company of Korea.
In response to the above two cases, Zhengtai and its subsidiaries have filed a counterclaim for patent invalidity, and simultaneously initiated an objection procedure in the European Patent Office.
