On December 4, the first commercial pilot project of hydrogen production technology based on water photolysis in China, the pilot project of polyhedral strontium titanate photocatalytic hydrogenation integrated station in Panzhihua City, was completed and put into operation in the West District of Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province. This project marks a key step in the industrialization of solar direct hydrogen production technology in China .

It is reported that the project is supported by the technology of " polyhedral strontium titanate concentrating quantum hydrogen and oxygen electrothermal integration " developed by the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and uses solar energy to achieve "zero carbon" hydrogen production by driving photocatalytic materials through concentrating devices. There are 24 concentrating hydrogen production reactors and 144 heliostats in the first phase of the
project. According to the laboratory test data, the purity of hydrogen and oxygen can reach 99.8% and 98.6% respectively. The total investment of the first phase of the

project is about 60 million yuan, the designed annual hydrogen production capacity is about 200 tons, the daily hydrogenation capacity can reach 1000 kg, and the hydrogen produced will be mainly used in the transportation field.
This project not only provides a new technical path for the large-scale production of green hydrogen, but also creates a demonstration model for the local conversion and utilization of energy in areas rich in solar energy resources, which is of positive significance for the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system in China.
