on July 18, according to recent media reports, the East Extension Expressway Project of Chibi Yangtze River Highway Bridge, which is supplied by Huaxin with all cement products, is progressing smoothly. Despite the continuous "baking" test in the face of high temperature weather, the construction of the project is still steadily advancing and is expected to be completed in October this year. It is about one year ahead of the original plan.
As a key project of the 14th Five-Year Plan of Hubei Expressway, the East Extension Section of Chibi Yangtze River Highway Bridge, with a total investment of 3.095 billion yuan, was officially launched in September 2023. The project starts from Pu'an Village, Chibi Town, Chibi City, connects with the Chibi side of the Chibi Yangtze River Highway Bridge, passes through Chibi Town and Chebu Town, and ends near Shujiawan, Puqi Street. It is interconnected with the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway. The 22.59-kilometer-long line will connect the Jianghan Plain and the Mufu Mountain Area in series.
At present, the subgrade earthwork of the project has been basically completed, culverts and passages have completed most of the works, and the construction of bridge pile foundations, pile caps, tie beams, piers and abutments and other substructures is nearing completion. The prefabrication and installation of beams and slabs are progressing smoothly. Among them, some key control projects, such as Jintan Reservoir Bridge, have completed the installation of the main line box girder, and the construction of ancillary facilities on the bridge deck is under way.
Huaxin Chibi Industrial Park has supplied more than 160,000 tons of cement for the project and is still in the process of continuous supply. The company has set up a special project service team to strictly control the quality of cement ingredients and clinker , and strictly inspect the products before they leave the factory to ensure the quality. The company has implemented a special warehouse for the project cement to ensure adequate supply for the project construction. The technical team regularly goes to each construction site to collect the use of products and provide technical services. After the
project is completed and opened to traffic, it will realize the direct connection between Chibi Yangtze River Highway Bridge and Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, form a fast passage from Jianghan Plain to the Pearl River Delta, promote the efficient conversion of Jiangbei Expressway, Wushen Expressway and other road networks, strengthen the horizontal connection of urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and provide transportation support for undertaking industrial transfer and developing cultural and tourism economy in southern Hubei.
