The reporter learned from the Economic and Information Committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region that Inner Mongolia will establish a complete set of Inner Mongolia Power Coal Index System to provide a basic basis for relevant departments to formulate coal industry policies and implement the adjustment of coal industry structure, so as to establish their own voice in coal market pricing.
As the most important coal supply base in China, Inner Mongolia is not only a major coal production province, but also a major coal consumption province. In 2011, Inner Mongolia's raw coal output reached 980 million tons, accounting for 27% of the country's total. The establishment of Inner Mongolia power coal index system can timely and objectively reflect the supply and demand of coal resources, provide price basis and production and operation reference for downstream power plants and upstream coal enterprises, and facilitate the government's macro-control of coal resources.
Inner Mongolia Power Coal Index is the general name of the index system reflecting the pithead price level and fluctuation of Inner Mongolia coal, including Inner Mongolia Coal Composite Index and Inner Mongolia Power Coal Classification Price Index. Through regular collection of coal trading information, real-time tracking of power coal price changes to find the price, through the use of appropriate mathematical models to reflect the mainstream market price, describe the trend and law of power coal price changes to analyze the price, with strong objectivity, timeliness, stability and representativeness, is the decision-making basis for coal supply and demand enterprises to participate in trading activities. It is a reference index for the government to understand the coal market and carry out macro-control, and an important window for scientific research institutions to analyze and study the coal industry. At present, the Inner Mongolia Power Coal Index has been in the trial operation stage. According to the main responsibilities of the Inner Mongolia Power Coal Index Work Standards, the coal enterprises will submit the data to the Inner Mongolia Economic and Credit Commission for review on the specified date, and the Inner Mongolia Resources Network will calculate the current index according to the submitted data, which will be authorized by the Autonomous Region Economic and Credit Commission and released to the public by the Inner Mongolia Resources Network.
Ma Yaofei, deputy general manager of Inner Mongolia Simon Coal Co., Ltd., which is engaged in coal business, said that the accurate and timely release of the Inner Mongolia Power Coal Index will be conducive to the exchange of information and business transactions between the supply and demand sides: In the past, we went to various coal companies by telephone to get information. Now sitting in the office can trade online, take this information platform to understand the price of coal mines around the Bohai Sea.
