According to local media reports, on March 13, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Sinkiang Production and Construction Corps and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council held a symposium on the work of revitalizing Xinjiang by the central enterprises in 2026 in Beijing. Before the
symposium, the autonomous region and the Corps signed cooperation agreements with 18 central enterprises, involving 92 projects covering energy, minerals, computing power, equipment manufacturing and other fields, and are expected to complete industrial investment of about 170 billion yuan in Xinjiang.
At the meeting, Zhang Yingchun, Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region and Standing Vice-Chairman of the Autonomous Region, briefed the central enterprises on the progress of industrial development in Xinjiang. Dai Houliang, Chairman of PetroChina, Zhang Zhigang, Chairman of State Grid, Wen Shugang, Chairman of China Huaneng, Chen Zhongyue, Chairman of China Mobile, Wang Xiangming, Chairman of China Resources Group, Chen Wenjian, Chairman of China Railway, and Zhou Qun, Chairman of Xinxing International China, made speeches and put forward suggestions on further deepening practical cooperation with Xinjiang.
In addition, the data show that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the central enterprises realized business income of 6.2 trillion yuan in Xinjiang, with a total investment of 1.1 trillion yuan, of which 265.7 billion yuan was invested in 2025 and 107000 new jobs were created.
