Recently, the Bureau of Ecology and Environment of Huainan City, Anhui Province, issued the "Pre-approval Announcement on the Environmental Impact Report of the 2000t/d New Low Carbon Cementitious Material (Comprehensive Utilization of Coal Gangue) Technical Renovation Project of Huainan Shunyue Cement Co., Ltd.".
The announcement shows that the project is located in the plant of Huainan Shunyue Cement Co., Ltd. in Bagongshan District of Huainan City, with a total investment of 64.4126 million yuan, of which 13.2 million yuan is invested in environmental protection. The kiln body and other key equipment of the original 2000 tons/day and 2500 tons/day clinker cement production line were dismantled . At the same time , the preheater and other systems of the original 2000 tons/day production line were reformed. The production scale of new cementitious materials is 600000 tons per year.
It is understood that in March 2023, the company originally planned to shut down two clinker production lines and relocate a 4500 t/d clinker production line. In April 2025, the Anhui Provincial Office of Industry and Information Technology announced that due to market expectations and policy changes, the project did not start construction, and its relocation plan was formally cancelled. After that, the relevant production capacity indicators were won by Conch Cement and used to supplement the production capacity. After the completion of the supplement, the enterprise had no clinker production capacity.
At present, the market demand of cement industry continues to be depressed, the contradiction of excess capacity has become increasingly prominent, the superimposed environmental protection policy has been tightened, and the pressure of enterprise operation has increased significantly. Price wars occur frequently in the industry, profit margins continue to be compressed, and market competition is almost white-hot. Under the superposition of multiple pressures, enterprises with weak comprehensive competitiveness are struggling to operate, their living space is constantly squeezed, and inefficient production capacity lacking scale and cost advantages is speeding up its clearance and gradually withdrawing from the traditional cement market.
Faced with the changing situation of the industry, relevant enterprises can only seek new development space by actively adjusting and finding another way out. How to break the
