And the 6GW component plant has just been put into production.

According to foreign media reports, Vikram Solar, an Indian photovoltaic manufacturer, announced that. It is planned to build a 9GW silicon ingot and wafer factory in the 6G W photovoltaic module production plant in Tirunelveli Gangaikongdan, Tamil Nadu.

Vikram Solar said the plan had been approved by the board of directors to achieve integrated production of photovoltaic industry chain from silicon ingots to modules.

For the above 9 GW silicon wafer factory construction plan, in early May this year, Vikram Solar disclosed that it would build 6 GW silicon ingot and silicon wafer manufacturing project in Tamil Nadu, and planned that the silicon wafer manufacturing project would be put into operation in fiscal year 2029. Then in early August, the company announced that the production capacity of the 6GW silicon wafer was increased to 9 GW, with an investment of 55.89 billion Indian rupees.

On July 6, Vikram Solar's 6G W module plant in Tamil Nadu was put into operation, and the first photovoltaic module was successfully rolled off the production line; on August 14, the module plant held a launch ceremony. While the module factory has made significant progress, Vikram Solar said that in the next few years, it plans to gradually expand from module manufacturing to the production of photovoltaic cells, silicon wafers and silicon ingots in Gangaikondan Park, concentrating the key links of the solar industry chain in the same location. The company plans to achieve 9 GW of photovoltaic cell capacity in fiscal year 2027, and further add 3 GW of cell capacity in fiscal year 2028; add 12 GW of silicon wafer and silicon ingot capacity in fiscal year 2029-2030.
