Construction Scale: This project starts from Shan Street, Caidian District, Wuhan City, connects with Wuhan West Hub Interchange which has been included in the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway Reconstruction and Expansion Project, along the existing expressway reconstruction and expansion, ends at Gaojiadian Hub Interchange, Huya Street, Xiaoting District, Yichang City, and connects with Yichang Liaison Line, with a total length of 266.261 km. There are 27 interchanges along the whole line, 4.796 kilometers of Yichang connecting line and 5.419 kilometers of Sanfutan, Maozui and Qixingtai connecting lines. The main line and Yichang connecting line are reconstructed and expanded according to the standard of two-way eight-lane expressway, with a design speed of 120 km/H, an integral subgrade width of 42 meters, and an additional subgrade width of 20.75 meters on one side. The design vehicle load grade of newly-built and widened bridges and culverts shall be highway grade I, the original load standard shall be used for existing bridges, and other technical indicators shall be implemented in accordance with the Technical Standard for Highway Engineering (JTG BO1-2014). Sanfutan Interchange Connection Line is constructed according to the second-class highway standard, while Maozui and Qixingtai Interchange Connection Line is constructed according to the first-class highway standard. The whole line is provided with 3 monitoring and communication sub-centers, 3 maintenance work areas, 19 ramp toll stations, 1 main line toll station, 5 service areas and 2 parking areas. The total investment of the project is estimated to be about 42.2 billion yuan. The actual construction scale shall be subject to the approval of the relevant competent authorities.
Others: Construction overview of existing projects: The section from Wuhan West to Yichang of Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway starts from Wuhan West Hub and passes through Caidian District of Wuhan City, Hanchuan City, Xiantao City and Qianjiang City of Xiaogan City, Jingzhou District and Shashi District of Jingzhou City, Zhijiang City, Yiling District, Wujiagang District and Xiaoting District of Yichang City. It ends at Gaojiadian Hub Interchange (intersection of Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway and Yichang Expressway) in Wujiagang District, Yichang City, with a total mileage of about 265.7 kilometers. Gaojiadian Hub Interchange is connected to the west, connecting Yichang Toll Station, with a total mileage of about 271 kilometers. The highway is a two-way four-lane, fully enclosed expressway with cement concrete pavement, and the whole line was paved with asphalt concrete pavement in 2006.
