The June 5 Environment Day originated from the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in 1972, and China has carried out publicity and commemorative activities since the 1980s. It has become an important platform for publicizing and implementing the idea of Xi Jinping and ecological civilization, an important carrier for mobilizing the whole people to build a beautiful China, and an important window for displaying the achievements of China's construction of ecological civilization to the world. During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the construction of beautiful China has entered a new stage, and it is more necessary to continue to do a good job in publicizing the Sixth Five-Year Environment Day, vigorously publicize Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought, further guide the whole society to support and participate in the protection of the ecological environment, and create a good atmosphere for building and sharing a beautiful China. The publicity work related to the June 5 Environment Day in 2026 is hereby notified as follows.
First, the theme
of the event is "Comprehensive Green Transformation, Building a Beautiful China", and the theme of World Environment Day focuses on the urgency of climate action. All units in various regions should closely focus on the theme, organize and carry out various forms of publicity activities in combination with the actual situation, fully demonstrate the remarkable achievements of the construction of beautiful China during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, clarify the hard-won improvement of the ecological environment, cultivate and promote the ecological culture, and call on the whole society to actively practice the green production and lifestyle. In order to achieve the goal of building a beautiful China during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, we should gather great strength to make the concept of ecological civilization more popular and go to the world. , 2026, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Central Office for the Construction of Spiritual Civilization, the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region will jointly host the National Home Event of the Sixth Five-Year Environment Day in Guangzhou. The event site will issue the "2025 China Eco-environmental Status Bulletin", tell the story of "Seeing Beautiful China from Here", announce the top ten eco-environmental volunteers in 2026, and launch the "Beautiful China Construction National Action Promotion Plan (2026-2030)". On the afternoon of June 5, the Beautiful China Hall will be held for the first time. On the afternoon of June 4, the 2026 China Eco-Culture Forum will be held, the research report on eco-culture will be released, the punch points of beautiful China will be recommended, and the creation plan of eco-literature will be launched. From June 1 to 7, supporting activities such as live webcasting, media interviews, writers'collecting styles and volunteer services will be organized, special programs will be broadcast on CCTV, and a series of online publicity activities will be carried out simultaneously. From June 1 to 7, the Beautiful China Publicity Week will be launched nationwide, encouraging all provinces (districts and municipalities) to organize a series of activities of "Beautiful China, I am an actor" according to local conditions, focusing on publicizing the power of truth and practice of Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought. 3. Work requirements
(1) Strengthen coordination and cohesion of publicity efforts.
