At 10:18 local time on February 8, the new dry-process cement production line of Red Lion in Vientiane, Laos, with a daily output of 5,000 tons, was officially ignited and put into production. More than 500 people attended the launch ceremony, including Vientiane Governor Weidong Saiyasong, the main leaders of Vientiane Province and Xinhe County, Guo Qizheng, Vice General Manager of Red Lion Group, and Wang Jianwei, General Manager of Vientiane Red Lion.
The main project of Vientiane Red Lion Cement Project, which started construction on November 8, 2016, is an important project for Red Lion Group to participate in China's "the Belt and Road", located in Xinhe County, Vientiane Province, with a total investment of 300 million US dollars, a plant area of about 1000 mu and a mine area of about 3000 mu. Cement will be manufactured in a safe, environmentally friendly and low-carbon way, and a modern garden-style factory with "reasonable technology, advanced equipment and first-class environmental protection" will be built to improve the overall level of the cement industry in Laos.
Since the commencement of the Vientiane Red Lion Cement Project, it has been strongly supported by Laos, Vientiane Province and local governments. Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsai Siphandone, Vientiane Governor Weidong Sayasone and other leaders came to the site for inspection and guidance, and affirmed that the project would improve local infrastructure construction and provide employment opportunities for local residents.
At the stage of project investigation, the then mayor of Jinhua City and the military and civilians also placed their hopes on the project. He hoped that the Lao government and Vientiane Province would vigorously support the Red Lion Cement Project, so that the project could be completed and put into operation as soon as possible, become a model project for China's investment in Laos, and contribute to the friendship between China and Laos.
