Anuradha Jayarat, Deputy Minister of Development and Environment of Mahaweli, Sri Lanka, said that as an important livelihood project in Sri Lanka, the restoration project of the Canal on the Left Bank of Minipe will solve the water problem of more than 15000 households in the surrounding areas, and at the same time effectively guarantee the drinking water safety of wildlife in the surrounding Wasgamuwa Forest Reserve. It is of great social and economic significance.
As the first important project of Gezhouba Group after entering the Sri Lankan market, the start of the project not only marks a major breakthrough in the group's overseas emerging markets, but also lays the foundation for the group's follow-up market development in Sri Lanka.
It is reported that the Minipe Dam Heightening Project is located in the southern part of Sri Lanka's Central Province, about 120 kilometers from the capital Colombo, and is one of the two important components of the Minipe Left Bank Canal Restoration Project. The main contents of the project include the heightening of the existing reinforced concrete practical weir and retaining wall, the construction of a new regulating sluice at the head of the canal on the left bank, the construction of a new sand-washing structure on the left bank and other water control and measurement facilities for various canals on the left and right banks. The contract period is 30 months.
Sri Lanka is located near the central line of the main channel of the Indian Ocean, and its strategic position is extremely important. It is one of the important nodes of the "Maritime Silk Road". China Gezhouba Group will take this project as an opportunity to give full play to its advantages, develop the Sri Lankan market in depth, and contribute to the economic development and livelihood improvement of Sri Lanka.
