On February 3, the Changjiang County Emergency Management Bureau released an investigation report on the "10.22" mechanical injury accident of China Resources Cement (Changjiang) Company. The company's belt corridor collapsed in October last year, resulting in one death and a direct loss of 2.875 million yuan. The direct cause of the accident was the sudden collapse of the belt corridor when the workers were carrying out the rubber coating operation of the belt roller, which resulted in its extrusion and death. The indirect cause was the jerry-building of the construction unit and the dereliction of duty of the construction and supervision units. The investigation team recommends imposing fines on the units and individuals involved, interviewing the responsible persons of the relevant units with weak supervision, and requiring all parties to implement the responsibility of the main body of safety.
