Recently, GivEnergy Ltd, one of the largest local energy storage manufacturers in the UK, formally filed a notice of intent to go into receivership with the UK court.
The "national brand", which once accounted for 35% of the UK household energy storage market, went from the peak of the industry to bankruptcy proceedings in less than a year.
According to the FAQ issued by the British Energy Storage Association, GivEnergy Ltd (the entity responsible for hardware manufacturing and sales) has entered bankruptcy administration, but GivEnergy Software Ltd (the entity responsible for operating systems and cloud services) has not entered bankruptcy proceedings.
It is understood that the controlling party behind GivEnergy is Shenzhen Gevon New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Before the company was formally established, the founding team had already set up its production base in Shenzhen, and there was also a Chinese director in the start-up team.
