On May 21, Shangao Holdings announced that it would sell about 650 million Class A common shares of VNET listed on Nasdaq to Ningde Times Affiliated Company, accounting for 38.1% of the total shares, about 942 million US dollars (about 6.4 billion RMB). After the completion of the
transaction, Ningde Times will indirectly hold 38.1% of the shares of Century Interconnection and become the largest shareholder.
21Vianet is the first Chinese operator-neutral data center service provider to achieve infrastructure interconnection with all major network operators, and this transaction also marks the strategic transition of Ningde era from "battery supplier" to " energy Internet infrastructure provider".
This is the second major investment layout in the field of computing and power collaboration in the Ningde era.
Earlier, on April 8, Ningde Times planned to subscribe for the new registered capital of Zhongheng Electric's controlling shareholder Zhongheng Science and Technology Investment with about 4.1 billion yuan. After the transaction is completed, Ningde Times will hold 49% of Zhongheng Science and Technology Investment and become the largest shareholder.
