   The data shows. In the first five months of this year, Bangladesh remained the largest exporter of cement in Vietnam, with exports of nearly 800,000 tons and exports of $35 million, followed by the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan.

   In addition, in the first five months of this year, Vietnam's domestic cement sales reached 21.3 million tons, up 5% year-on-year. In May alone, domestic cement consumption reached 6.38 million tons, up 9% year-on-year. Vietnam Investment Review attributed the increase in consumption to Vietnam's entry into the construction season and signs of recovery in the domestic real estate market.

   In the first five months of this year, Vietnam's cement imports and exports totaled 27.1 million tons, up only 1% year-on-year, accounting for 37.7% of the annual plan.
