Project Overview: Hubei Songzi Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Songzi City, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. The upper reservoir is located in Fenghuang, Xiejiaping Township, Songzi City, and the lower reservoir is located in the middle and upper reaches of Hongyan River, Xiejiaping Township, Songzi City, which is connected by county roads and rural cement roads. Hubei Songzi Pumped-storage Power Station has an installed capacity of 1200 MW, with 4 units installed and a single unit capacity of 300 MW. The catchment area of the upper reservoir of the hydropower station is 0.56km2, the normal water level is 596.00 m, the dead water level is 570.00 m, the dead storage is 837,000 m3, and the available regulation storage is 8.83 million m3. The lower reservoir has a catchment area of 45.50 km2, a normal water level of 211.00 m, a dead water level of 192.00 m, a dead storage capacity of 3.63 million m3, and an available regulating storage capacity of 8.86 million m3. The power generation rated head of the power station is 378.00 m. The power station is a first-class large (1) project. Hubei Songzi Pumped-storage Power Station mainly consists of upper reservoir, lower reservoir, water conveyance and power generation system. The upper reservoir is mainly composed of one main dam, three auxiliary dams, anti-seepage structures at the reservoir bank and the reservoir bottom, while the lower reservoir is mainly a RCC gravity dam; The water conveyance and power generation line is arranged in the mountain between the 2 # auxiliary dam and 3 # auxiliary dam of the upper reservoir and the left bank of Hongyan River, generally running from southeast to northwest. The horizontal distance between the inlet/outlet of the upper and lower reservoirs is about 1.01 km, and the distance-height ratio is 2.675.
