According to foreign media reports, the Canadian International Trade Court has launched a mid-term review of its "anti-dumping and countervailing order on solar modules and laminates originating in or exported from China".
The review concerns Order RR-2020-001, issued on March 25, 2021, which covers Chinese solar modules and photovoltaic panels composed of crystalline silicon cells. And thin-film photovoltaic products made from amorphous silicon, cadmium telluride, or copper indium gallium selenide. Module or thin-film module products with a
useful output power not exceeding 100 W, and those integrated in appliances other than for power generation, are not included in the original order.
The tribunal issued a statement explaining that the purpose of the review was to decide whether the order should continue, whether or not it should be modified . According to the announcement of the initiation of the
case, on August 25, 2025, Kings Solar Solutions, a supplier of solar energy solutions, submitted a request for an interim review order. Request that flexible solar panels that can fit curved surfaces be excluded from the original order. On October 15,
2025, two companies, Heliene Inc. And Silfab Solar Inc., said they were requesting the exclusion of low-wattage components, such as those with an output power of less than 200w.
The Tribunal said that after reviewing the request and submissions, it was necessary to conduct an interim review of the request for exclusion made by Kings Solar Solutions Inc. The
tribunal's statement also said it would issue a ruling "in due course".
