Recently, the arrest of a senior executive of a Chinese photovoltaic company at an Australian airport caused a shock to the industry. According to local media reports, the man, Guoxin Zhu, a senior executive of Guruiwatt, a Chinese photovoltaic inverter and household energy storage company, had delivered tea containing 20000 Australian yuan in cash to Australian public officials. Being directly reported by the other side, the Australian side immediately set up a task force to investigate. The man was arrested at Sydney Airport as he tried to leave the country. On
July 27, the Brisbane District Court heard the case. The prosecution opposed bail on the grounds of the risk of absconding and formally rejected his bail application. The case will be heard again on August 5.
It is noteworthy that this incident coincides with the key node of Guruiwatt's third listing application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It is reported that the personnel involved have been responsible for the company's Australian market business for a long time, while the Australian media and industry organizations have focused on the local certification and approval of new energy products. At present, Guruiwatt has not issued an official statement on this matter, and the follow-up progress of the case remains to be further disclosed.
