We should be alert to the operational risks of energy storage power stations . At present, the economic analysis of most independent energy storage power stations in China is based on assumptions. The current policy and electricity market are constantly changing, and the asset life of energy storage power plants is 15 or even 20 years.
At present, the income of energy storage power stations basically comes from three parts: the price difference of spot transactions, frequency modulation ancillary services and capacity tariff. We have done a preliminary study. After the frequency modulation market of a medium-sized province in China is fully liberalized, it will be about 1 billion to 2 billion yuan per year. This scale can support the construction of about 10 GW of energy storage power stations. Beyond this scale, FM service fees are basically not accounted for. The same is true of the
electricity market. If a medium-sized province can maintain a good electricity price difference, the scale of energy storage that can be supported is about 20 GW, and the price difference will be narrowed rapidly. As for the capacity price, if the energy storage time is less than 6 hours, after deducting the system operation cost of the power grid, there is little left.
In this extremely unstable business model, the future operational risk of energy storage power stations is actually very large. We judge that many energy storage power stations may become non-performing assets in the next few years, so operational capacity and energy storage quality are the core guarantee of asset security. Therefore, we also appeal to everyone that when choosing a partner, we must choose a partner with strength and reliability, and we should not covet temporary advantages.
