The Moroccan cement market continued to decline at the beginning of the year. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Land Improvement, Urbanization, Housing and Urban Planning, the national cement shipment in February 2026 was about 2.092 million tons, down 15.81% from 2.48 million tons in the same period in 2025. Although the decline narrowed from 18.78% in January, it still showed the severe challenges facing the industry. Among them, the monthly shipment in February was 1.048 million tons, down 12.63% from the same period last year, continuing the downward curve since the beginning of the year.
The industry-wide downturn affected all major producers, including Astmara Cement, Atlas Cement, Morrocco Cement, Holcim Group (Morocco) and new entrant Nova Cement. From the perspective of market segmentation, the shipment volume to dealers was about 1.08 million tons, with a decline of 21.1%, which became the main factor dragging down the total volume. The consumption of ready-mixed concrete market ranked second with 558,700 tons, followed by the precast concrete market with about 217,500 tons, 155,300 tons for infrastructure use and 70,600 tons for construction; The use of mortar is only 10 thousand and 400 tons. Sectors generally contracted, reflecting a broad slowdown in construction activity.
Weather factors are an important driver of this round of decline.
