Inner Mongolia Energy Bureau reported on February 11 that on February 3, the power supply scheme of Kubuqi Power Transmission Shanghai and Kubuqi Power Transmission Jiangsu Shagohuang Base was approved by the State Energy Administration, marking a phased progress in the promotion of the base. It is expected that by the end of 2026, the construction of supporting coal-fired power will be officially started.
The base is mainly located in the Kubuqi desert area of Ordos City, where the Kubuqi power transmission base in Shanghai is planned to build 8 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power and 4.5 million kilowatts of wind power. Supporting coal power 2 million 640 thousand kilowatts, new energy storage 9 million kilowatt hours , the total investment of about 63 billion 200 million yuan ;
Kubuqi Power Transmission Jiangsu Base plans to build 8 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power , 4 million kilowatts of wind power, 2.64 million kilowatts of supporting coal-fired power and 8.16 million kilowatt-hours of new energy storage . The total investment is about 64.2 billion yuan. After the completion of the
project, about 72 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity can be transported to East China every year, of which more than 60% is from new energy sources, about 13.7 million tons of standard coal consumption can be reduced annually, and about 34 million tons of carbon dioxide can be reduced, which will effectively promote the green transformation of energy structure and energy conservation and emission reduction in East China. Effectively improve the ability of optimizing the allocation of high-quality power resources across regions, and better serve and guarantee the power supply and power grid security in East China.
