local time, the LSS5 BSSB photovoltaic power generation project , the largest single photovoltaic project under construction in Malaysia contracted by China Nengjian Jiangsu Institute, was fully started.
The project is located in Besri Jaya District, Kuala Selangor District, Selangor, Malaysia, covering three large plots with a total area of about 437 hectares.
The project includes the construction of a photovoltaic power station with an installed capacity of 300MWac/459.27MWp and the design, procurement, construction, commissioning and completion services of the supporting 275kV booster station and transmission line.
The project uses innovative floating solar technology, and more than 80% of the photovoltaic modules will be installed on the water body, mainly using the water surface resources of the raw water reservoir and the hybrid off-river augmentation system (HORAS), which are only used in the dry season; the rest will be installed on the ground. The total construction period is about 20 months, and it is expected to achieve commercial operation before July 1, 2027. After the completion of the

project, the annual power generation will exceed 640 million kilowatt-hours, which is equivalent to saving about 200000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 100000 tons per year. It is of great significance to alleviate the pressure of peak power consumption in Selangor, improve the reliability of power supply and promote the transformation of Malaysia's energy structure.
It is reported that, The Project Owner's Bestari Solar Sdn Bhd (BSSB) consists of the Edra Power Holdings Sdn Bhd, Consortium of Worldwide Holdings Berhad and Rotaka Engineering Services (M) Sdn Bhd. Among them, Edra Power is a subsidiary of CGN Energy International Holding Co., Ltd., which is also the first floating photovoltaic project of CGN and its international business platform.
LSS5 BSSB photovoltaic power generation project is the benchmark core project of the fifth round of large-scale solar energy plan (LSS5) of the Malaysian government. After the completion of the project, it will become the largest floating solar photovoltaic power station in Malaysia and one of the largest similar projects in Southeast Asia.
