American thin-film photovoltaic module manufacturer, reported revenue of $1.231 billion in the third quarter of 2026, down 22.8% from the same period last year; Net profit was 571 million US dollars, up about 25.2% year on year. According to financial data, gross profit margin rose to 57.9% from 38.3% in the same period last year. The core benefited from the increase in sales of modules eligible for the 45X manufacturing tax credit in the United States and the increase in the price per watt. According to
the results, module sales in the third quarter fell to 4.1GW from 5.3GW in the same period last year, while production rose to 4.3GW from 3.6GW. The decrease in the number of components sold to third-party customers was one of the main reasons for the decline in revenue.
In addition, as of the end of September, First Solar held a long-term contract of 44GW to be delivered, with a corresponding contract transaction price of about $13.5 billion (equivalent to more than 90 billion yuan), and the delivery arrangement continued until 2030.
It is worth noting that the company lowered its full-year guidance at the same time: module sales were lowered from 17.0 to 18.2GW to 16.0 to 17.0 GW; revenue was lowered from $4.9 billion to $5.2 billion to $4.6 billion to $4.9 billion.
