According to foreign media reports, the United States Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has officially suspended the "Esmeralda 7" solar project, the reason for the suspension has not yet been announced. The project was expected to set a record and become the largest solar power facility in the United States.

It is reported that the solar energy project is located in Nevada, USA, and consists of seven sub-projects. Lone Mountain Solar, Nivloc Solar, Smoky Valley Solar, Red Ridge 1 Solar, Red Ridge 2 Solar, Esmeralda Energy Center, and Gold Dust Solar。 The total size of the Esmeralda 7 solar project is 6.2G W, which can provide electricity support for nearly 2 million American households.

According to the New York Times, Alice Sharp, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of the Interior, said in a recent email that developers could still apply for separate permits for each subproject.
However, the project approval process has already reached a later stage, and re-application may cause serious delays in the progress of the project. The NEPA environmental review of the project (similar to China's EIA) has been stalled
since Trump took office.
It is reported that BLM has issued the draft planning environmental impact report of Esmeralda 7 in July 2024, and originally planned to issue the final review document in April this year. According to the current public information, the final review document of the project has not yet been found.
According to Politico, by the time Trump took office, at least 35 commercial-scale solar power projects in the United States were in the preliminary stage of BLM review, and these projects have not yet been approved or taken further action.
This includes 700 MW of Copper Rays Solar Project, 400 MW of Purple Sage Solar Project and 300 MW of MWBonanza Solar Project, all in Nevada.
